FAQ

How competitive is the team?

Our team competes at a high level. We hold tryouts in early fall and create our roster based on both high skill level and high commitment level. Our team has consistently been invited to playoffs and often nationals, so it is essential that players are able to compete at a national level. That being said, all players are welcomed and encouraged to tryout for our team and will be rewarded for showing effort and a desire to improve and contribute positively to the team.

How much of a time commitment is the team?

During the spring season, we practice 2 days a week and are expected to condition/lift an additional 2-3 times a week. In the fall, we practice twice a week and are expected to condition/lift an additional 3-4 times a week.

How often does the team travel?

Usually, our biggest trips are to Santa Barbara, CA in February, Michigan in April (for playoffs), and various locations for nationals in May. These trips tend to be longer (4-5 days), but we also have one or two shorter trips within the Midwest during the spring season (1-2 days). In the fall, we mostly travel within the Twin Cities area for scrimmages.

Who runs the team?

Our team is run by both our coaching staff and officers. We have a head coach, Taylor Tvedt, and assistant coach, Josie Rohach. Our coaches lead practices and games, and maintain our workout schedule. Our officers are responsible for all of the organization and administration of the team, and they are under management of the University's Sport Clubs staff. More information can be found on our Coaches & Officers page.

When is the competitive season?

Our competitive season begins in early February and continues all the way up through Nationals in early May. We also have a fall ball season that begins in October and continues until winter break in mid December.

What does it cost to play?

Dues vary every year, but usually we have two sets of $650 payments, one due in the fall and another due in the spring. We also have a fundraising requirement. These dues cover all travel costs, games, field spaces, coaches, refs, uniforms, team bonding activities, and more. We have many opportunities throughout the year for players to fundraise, and any additional money raised goes towards individual player dues.
